Guesthouse Musher’s Lodge

The Musher’s Lodge is an old log building situated in the middle of the yard. The building was built in 1932 and it was one of the first buildings in the small village Kauppinen. Since then it had many purposes, from a family home to a post office, a bar and nowadays a lodge for our guests. Inside the house you can recognise remains of the old purposes if you look closely. Jan and Daniela renovated the lodge themselves and over the years they brought in their own style, preserving the original atmosphere. The lodge is decorated with pictuers from the area in the old and present day.
There are seven rooms, providing space for 24 guests in total. Four double bedrooms, one bedroom with four beds and two bedrooms with six beds. Four rooms are next to the living room and dining area. The other three are one floor higher up. The toilets and showers are not connected to the bedrooms. From the lodge you have a view over the yard, which gives the possibility to watch the leaving and returning dog teams. Since the Musher’s Lodge is built on a higer spot all the rooms have a view over the area.

Wilderness Camp Väkkäräjärvi

Our wilderness camp is situated in the middle of a vast forest area, beside the lake ”Väkkäräjärvi”. It is located about 30 km far away from Kiruna City. In this beautiful area, with Lapland´s solitude, you find everything necessary for real outdoor leisure.

Our camp has one main building and three smaller cabins just beside. The main building has three bedroom with each two bunkbeds and a lager with twelve beds. In total ithe whole camp provides space for 35 people. The main cabin has a big kitchen and a cosy common room with a fireplace. Additionally, a big wood headed sauna belongs to the camp. The site has no running water or electricity. Water you get from a little creek, the cabins are heated up by wood stoves and the sauna serves as washing facility.
